The Thang
The Asylum has been insanely challenging this week, so YHC wanted to make things simple, but still painful and sweaty. We moseyed the long way to the playground where we broke into groups of four. YHC had four workouts for four muscle groups, 40 seconds on, 20 seconds rotate/rest, two rounds for each group.
Group 1 (Arms): Merkins, Dips, Pullups, Shoulder Taps
Group 2 (Legs): Squats, Lunges, Squat Jumps, Wall Sits
Group 3 (Abs): LBCs, Plank, Freddy Mercury, American Hammers
Group 4 (Cardio): Burpees, Step Ups, Jump Rope, Mountain Climbers
PAX did a fantastic job and got out what they put into the workout, which is really a great lesson for our lives as well. We had to cut Group 4 short due to time, which was unfortunate, but YHC promises to do better with time management.
Circle of Trust
Praise for Scout starting his new job as security at Kroger. Praise for Swedish Ham and his new gig as well and prayers training goes smooth. Prayers for Mrs. Casper as she had a scary setback with her cancer treatment yesterday. Scout assures she is OK, but prayers to all of them.
Naked Man Moleskin
YHC psyches out himself when it comes to our beatdowns. YHC hears a number of burpees, length of a bear crawl, whatever, and immediately tells himself he will have to modify. That’s why YHC brought the 40/20 today, because we can really do anything for 40 seconds. What’s the point? YHC hopes to encourage you (and himself) to change your mindset. Instead of focusing on what you don’t think you can do, focus on what you can, and surprise yourself. God has given us the ability to do amazing things as men, as husbands, as fathers, as employees, as servants in His church, and so much more. Embrace challenges and with God leading the way, do more than you ever thought possible! (Even burpees 🙂 )
