Introduction
Rolled up a bit early to scope out the park. Barely anyone here due to fog and overall gloominess. Perfect for an F3 morning.
Warm-O-Rama
Mosey toward the skatepark. Found a nice flat space between the skatepark and the dog park. 10 SSH, 10 Weedpickers, 10 Tumbleweeds, Sun Gods OYO, Michael Phelps OYO.
The Thang
Snowflake saw the future when he called out my “running stretches.” Will there be a lot of running? Yes. Will there be a lot of counting? Yes.
DORA 123: Partner up and split the count between you. One partner ran to a marked location while the other did the exercise.
100 Hand Release Merkins
200 Squats
300 LBCs
RING OF FIRE Intermission – Pax held plank and took turns running around the circle backwards. Repeato until all pax completed a lap.
Since everyone was so good at counting, we kept it going!
DORA 456 – Same partners as before.
400 Monkey Humpers
500 American Hammers (Each touch of the ground counted as 1.)
600 SSH
I thought we’d have time, but I learned that this workout only lasts until 0845. I had planned for one hour, but it felt good to cut it short. We made it about halfway through the 500 American Hammers before we recovered.
Indian Run back to the flag. Pause to pick up the 6. Final SPRINT back to the flag.
Circle of Trust
Ramblin’ Wreck was our 6th man. Learned about his amazing weight loss and a little bit about his family. Our youngster FNG was a BOSS during the workout (YHC had the pleasure of being his partner for DORA). He earned the name Peg-Leg, because his father is Barbossa.
Naked Man Moleskin
We count on each other to be the HIMs we’re meant to be. F3 is a community. Reach out. Reach out even if you don’t know anyone too well. We can’t go through life alone, and luckily, we don’t have to.
While we were chatting some masked park employees jumped out of their truck to chastise us. They asked “Who’s in charge?” to which YHC gave a half-hearted “All of us?” He asked if we had a permit to dig…because of our shovel flag…that had been planted in the patchiest part of the park. After some confusion we learned that yes, it is OK to work out at a public park. But no, it is not OK to “dig.”
Wall Ball’s got some ideas up his sleeve on how to circumnavigate the poindexters that are very worried about our construction agenda. I do have to say, it wasn’t on the posted rules…
Really proud of the hard work shown by all the guys out there today. Thanks for having me!
