Is there really anything worse than a millennial (Person) ?
Turns out yes yes there is. It’s a millennial (workout)

SSH IC
WEEDPICKERS IC

What comes next was anything but usual
The Thang
Quick mosey to our favorite football field. It looked inviting and well lit. All seemed right with the world.
And then…the Millenial. Or as I prefer to call it “keeping it 100”
Ten rounds of exercises at 100 reps each, for a grand total of 1000 reps to start your day.
Rounds 1-9 were played “best ball” so that the first PAX to complete 100 reps calls it loud and clear for all to hear and then we take a quick 100 yard jog to the dark side…of the field. Round 10 was unique:everyone together
Round 1: SSH. Simple enough. PAX were quite chipper at this point, Kathmandid’s arms were flapping faster than a hummingbird looking for sweet water. I could almost hear them thinking, “this is just like our warmup! No problem!”
Due to some confusion on the counting YHC called it and we took off towards the dark side. I think I heard Kathmandid say he did 140 SSH but I could be wrong.
Round 2: lunges. Pax were decidedly LESS chipper. About halfway through I could hear some groans and YHC began to think “what have I done?!” Knowing what was ahead. Thank Sky Q Drafty Kilt calls it and we mosey
Round 3: Merkins. Now we are starting to feel some serious burn out. YHC has been doing lots of pushups lately but nothing could have prepared us for the pain at about rep 65. And everything after. YHC calls it after a grueling fight. Mosey.
Round 4:LBC’s. Hated it! But Kathmandid calls it like super fast. Mosey
Round 5: mountain climbers. Yes Drafty Kilt it is possible to burnout on mountain climbers. Now we know. Mosey
Round 6: calf raises. Just hard and weird. Mosey
Round 7: Arm Raises. Now we can thank QT for all those horrible jack Webb’s and for finishing first!you da man. Mosey
Round 8: Alternating jump squats (alternating hand must touch the ground each time, like an offensive lineman stance). At this point mumble chatter slowed to a grinding halt. Occasional moans and complaints about quads burning. QT tried to escape the pain of the moment by commenting that he wanted to do this one again soon. Why? But Pax hit 100. Mosey.
Round 9: Hip pounders (in low plank position touch right hip to ground, then left hip, and on and on) this one felt like it would never end.
Round 10: and finally, burpees. It always comes down to burpees. On Q’s “down” we all hit the ground. Pax were instructed that once they got back on their feet to keep the feet chopping until all Pax got back on there feet and until the next rep. PAX were huffing and puffing by rep 10. Gassed by rep 35. At this point QT hit the road and had us all longing to follow him to cars and rest and coffee. But there was still 65 more to do. At this point a lot gets blurry. Memories are foggy. There was kind of an exhausted trance that we fell into. After a brief 10 second rest at rep 75 the PAX had a real second wind and finished strong to quite strong. Yak took us home with the last 10 reps and it was brutal and amazing at the same time. Mosey one last time to our flag.
Circle of Trust
Count off and name or Rama. No FNG’s
YHC talked about the concept of burn out and how important it is to push ourselves to the limit. The concept that made itself evident during the workout was that none of us are strong enough to do everything ourselves all the time. Each round a different pax was finishing first and in this way we really relied on each other. When many of us were struggling someone was strong and pulling us along. This concept is talked about in Galatians chapter 6 where Paul encourages us to carry each other’s burdens. But how can we carry a burden if we don’t know it exists? Hence the importance of honest community.
Naked Man Moleskin
So hard and so much fun. And I am really sore in some weird places!
