Introduction

19 years ago, the world changed forever. This morning we remember those who were lost.

Warm-O-Rama

GaDgEt showed up in the gloom despite breaking his ankle less than 24 hours earlier. A very sparkly knee scooter was awaiting him. YHC has never seen him happier. He stayed in the lot to proctor Wheels and Mr. Pink doing the IPC. The rest of the PAX:

Planted the flags in the field. Circled up for:
SSH IC 11X
Weed Pickers IC 11X
LBAC’s IC 10X each (forward, backward, seal, overhead)

The Thang

Double Indian run down BA’s Hill to Little Five Points. The WTC had 110 stories. PAX completed 110 step ups on the picnic tables.

Double Indian run back up BA’s Hill to the field.

YHC explained that we would be using the numbers of 9/11/2001 for the next part. We will be running 2001 meters (about 1.25 miles). In between the laps we will be completing eleven reps of nine exercises. During the laps, PAX will take turns leading the lap with the four flags present from different AO’s. Every man had a chance to jog with Old Glory this morning.

PAX completed:
4 count squats 11X
LBC’s 11X
Run a lap
4 count merkins 11X
High Knees 11X
Run a lap
Freddy Mercury’s 11X
Calf raises 11X
Run a lap
Mountain climbers 11X
Flutter kicks 11X
Run a lap
Burpees 11X
Run final lap

On the final lap, the flag bearers decided to wait for the six for a final sprint all together.

Gather on a corner of the field for Flight Path.

Circle of Trust

Shout out to DakoToes for reminding YHC that we had 3 PAX up in the lot so we should do COT there.

Circle up for count-o-rama, name-o-rama.

YHC read the following:
Nineteen men hijacked four fuel-loaded US commercial airplanes bound for west coast destinations. A total of 2,977 people were killed in New York City, Washington, DC and outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The attack was orchestrated by al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

The Victims:
At the World Trade Center (WTC) site in Lower Manhattan, 2,753 people were killed when hijacked American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 were intentionally crashed into the north and south towers, or as a result of the crashes.

Of those who perished during the initial attacks and the subsequent collapses of the towers, 343 were New York City firefighters, 23 were New York City police officers and 37 were officers at the Port Authority.

The victims ranged in age from two to 85 years. Approximately 75-80% of the victims were men.
At the Pentagon in Washington, 184 people were killed when hijacked American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the building.

Near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, 40 passengers and crew members aboard United Airlines Flight 93 died when the plane crashed into a field. It is believed that the hijackers crashed the plane in that location, rather than their unknown target, after the passengers and crew attempted to retake control of the flight deck.

Bone fragments were still being found as late as 2006, 5 years after the attack.

As of July 2019, 1,644 (60%) of 2,753 WTC victims’ remains have been positively identified, according to the medical examiner’s office.”

YHC encouraged these High Impact Men to examine their thoughts and actions. When 9/11 happened, all of the sudden, things that once seemed important weren’t anymore. Let’s try to focus our energy and time on things that really matter. That is the best way to honor those who we lost.

Naked Man Moleskin

Well done. Brutal beatdown for a brutal day. Never forget.
