Introduction
Exploring the finer points of winning at life.
Warm-O-Rama
Moseyed over to the other parking lot and circled up. Abscess joined us a few minutes late.
Weed Pickers IC
Mountain Climbers IC
Hillbillies IC
Mountain Man Poopers – new warm-up discovered by YHC. Went over well with the PAX once they understood what was happening.
Sun Gods IC forward X 20, backward X 20
Seal claps 20 IC, complete with dance moves from QT
Overhead claps 20 IC – Swedish Ham began a rousing rendition of The Hey Song as we were clapping. QT joined in for maximum effect. Delta mentioned the sadness of Cheer Dad missing out on such a festive warm-up.
Finished off Warm-O-Rama with a good friend named Jack Webb. Kathmandid did a nice job counting air presses as YHC could barely breathe. Mumblechatter ceased at this point.
Mosey to One Tree Hill for The Thang
The Thang
At North Metro Church, where many of the PAX attend, the men’s ministry strives to help men WIN by helping them be Wholehearted, In-dependence on God and others, and be men with Nothing to prove, Nothing to fear, and Nothing to hide (should it be WINNN?) YHC decided to build a workout around these three core ideas.
Wholehearted – PAX got their whole heart involved as we did a modified Spartan up One Tree Hill. Only had time for 5 rounds. Delta realized that his sprint speed and walking speed are about the same. Much mumblechatter about the slick, wet grass. No injuries reported.
In-Dependence – After moseying to football field, PAX paired up for some partner fun. First on the agenda was wheelbarrows across the short part of the field. PAX flapjacked and headed back to where they started. YHC had to explain several times what flapjack meant. Now we know. Because of an odd number of PAX, YHC did burpees whilst the wheelbarrows rolled. Next up was Partner People’s Chair. PAX did a nice job leaning on their brothers to work out those quads. Much mumblechatter about how low one should go in this position. Only a few collapses. PAX switched partners and went on the People’s Chair once again. Finally, PAX were instructed to do a Power Merkin. P1 would plank with their feet on P2’s back. P2 did 10 merkins. Flapjack/repeat. Although YHC did a fantastic job communicating the exercise, there was confusion as to which partner had their feet up. Some pairs did inclined merkins instead. Lesson learned. Visual instruction next time.
Nothing to fear, hide, or prove – We focused on the nothing to prove aspect of this, as YHC knew this last little bit would smoke the PAX, QIC included. PAX began on the endzone side of the field and crawl beared to the next corner. We switched to walking lunges for the length of the field. Transitioned to crab walks for the other endzone length. Finished off the lap with frog jumps down the other side. Rinse/repeat until time was out. Streak led the way and made it a little more than halfway on his second lap before time expired. Rest of PAX were scattered about, mostly relieved that it was time to mosey back to the flag.
Circle of Trust
Count-O-Rama: 11
Name-O-Rama: Kathmandid always says his age last instead of his F3 name. It’s a thing.
YHC brought the idea of the WIN home by connecting it back to our spiritual lives. Wholehearted living, In-dependence on God and our brothers, and trying to be men with nothing to hide, nothing to prove, and nothing to fear.
Kathmandid reminded the PAX that you don’t change without challenge and that how you do anything is how you do everything. Let’s strive for excellence.
PAX brought it in to honor the SkyQ and ask for wisdom to help us WIN.
Naked Man Moleskin
This was the most nervous YHC has been about leading. But I was also excited to get out there with my brothers and start the day off well. I appreciate what you do to make me a better man, both during F3 and outside of that. YHC hopes that the brotherhood continues to expand in our area. 10,000 strong – right, Kathmandid!?
