Introduction

As I pull out the winkie, QT wants to know why YHC has been the Q so often. He tried to eat my last winkie. YHC is Q today only because the spot was open on the calendar!

The Thang

It’s a HIIT AMRAP EMOM!!!

We will work hard for one minute, followed by one minute of a “hold position” exercise/rest. The work minute will be a full minute of work to complete as many reps as possible. The hold position will be about 45 seconds of holding while we transition in and out of the main exercise.

The exercises are as follows:

1B Glute bridge hold

2A Calf Raises
2B Low plank

3B Right star plank

4A BBSU
4B Water bug

5A Fall down push-ups
5B Bear hold (knees up)

6A Tuck jumps
6B Superman hold

7A Pushups
7B Right arm bear dog

8A Bonnie Blairs
8B Left star plank

9A Double Mtn Climber
9B Banana

10A Shoulder taps
10B Left arm bear dog

After the glute bridge, we were surprised to see QT make it more than about 5 seconds in that position, but then realized he was only squeezing his cheeks to keep the smell in.

During the low plank, we were careful not to press our elbows into the ground too hard and ruin the yard of the month.

YHC is not sure that Yak actually stayed off the ground during the water bug (or that he even got up to continue exercising after that minute was over).

OnePly face-planted into the wet grass only 3 times during the fall down push-ups.

Tuck jumps were more like tuck jump (singular) for YHC. Lt. Dan disease was going around about that time.

During the Bonnie Blair’s, it appeared that Casper simply took a knee and prayed for all us during this trying time of a terrible idea for BD.

YHC was rather nervous and thought spooning would be inevitable based on the amount of grunting and heavy breathing coming from a man named Spooner this morning.

Once this 20 minutes of EMOMHITTAMRAPDHFHFJCDJAHFHSHE was over, we ran down to the brickyard.

For 30 seconds at a time, for 5 minutes, we performed:

1 Reverse plank crunch
2 Table hold
3 Side star L low plank
4 Side star R low plank
5 Plank punches
6 Reverse plank L leg up
7 Bird dog L plank
8 Reverse plank R leg up
9 Bird dog R plank
10 Bear plys

If my ears did not deceive me, I think I heard QT actually appreciate the Bear Plys (unless he was appreciating that we were done – I’ll confirm later).
